Batch convert -- Support adding custom actions

Post by Jan Steinman »

I didn't see this on the first four pages (of 84!) that had "actions" in them, so I hope this isn't a duplicate.

It would be nice if one were able to add custom actions to this menu, perhaps as simple as a shell script.

Then, one could make specialized use of things like Image Magick or exiftool or other command-line image manipulation programs.

For example, the "-color-matrix" parameter of Image Magick is an awesome tool that can do arbitrary re-arranging of the colour map that includes combining fractional channels and other such sorcery.

Such a general facility could be used to do arbitrary EXIF assignments, using exiftool and other tools, such as a consistent way of naming people in an image (there isn't any such thing!) or looking up locations and filling in GPS information.

My humble computer shows 364 application man pages that have to do with "images". I would be lovely to use them from within XnView!

Thanks for considering!

Are you referring to 'Batch convert' actions, or to something else?

I'm sorry, it seems I put this in the wrong thread.

I was referring to XnConvert's "Actions —> Add Action" menu tree.

Is there a simple way to move this thread to the XnConvert topic?

As XnConvert is nominally identical to XnView MP's Batch convert... (different update cycles), I have been able to solve the problem by editing the title of you first post... :D
