Is there a way to avoid draw mode to be close with ESC

Hello Im facing a problem with draw mode, if a press ESC accidentally the draw closes without warning and I lose all the edition I have made so far. This happens to me a lot and it's very annoying, I used esc to get out from the tools Im using in the edition but if there is no tools or hit it twice its all done. Is there a way to avoid this to happened or at least a message to confirm before close
