Step 1. Disable libmng.dll plugin.
Step 2. Try open these two PNG files in XnView.
Result: Only the first one is recognized. XnView cannot open the second image.

Used to work for me. Both files do load and animation runs with 1.96 ... but with 1.99.1 the black one is not recognized "format could not be determined" ... regression in XN or the APNG is invalid

Despite XnView 1.99.5 release notes, this bug is not fixed!

But I shouldn't enable that option. Why is there "read error"? There should be no read errors.
