old problem that needs attention:
when opening an image from windows explorer in xnviewmp it opens in full screen (fine)
but when switching to browser (whichever way: middle click, enter, double click) the browser window never opens maximized.(no matter what the window state/size was at the last application exit)

Re: Switching from viewer to browser un-maximize the window
I concur.
And I might add an observation from XnView-Classic related to this very same bug, that may also be true for XnViewMP (although I am not 100% sure as it has been a couple of months ago, that I last tried the MP version but decided to stick with classic):
Ridiculously the shape and size of the opening pseudo-fullscreen-browser-window after switching ("pseudo" because actually it doesn't come up fullscreen at all) seems to be determined by the exact screen-area of the last single image viewed before the switch in fullscreen, scaled to maximum mode. That means, if the last image viewed has been a narrow-portrait-format for example, then the pseudo-FS-browser window after the switch will also come up as a narrow-portrait-window, thereby masking nearly all the thumbnails present which are still virtually arranged over the entire - but apart from the narrow window-"slot" invisible - screen area.

Re: Switching from viewer to browser un-maximize the window
I want to confirm the existence of this problem.
Using the latest version of the program.
1. If I use the Enter key or the middle click, the correct switch mode: Browser> Full Screen | Full Screen> Browser
When using a double-click, the image opens in a new tab.
2. Changing the double-click action is not saved, action always remains as in the screenshot.

+1
The same happens when one does 'Screen Capture'.
Steps:
0. Have XnView MP maximized
1. Go to Tools | Capture... - choose 'Rectangle area'
2. Capture an area on the screen smaller than the entire screen.
Expected:
The program will remain maximized when the captured screen area is put in a new tab in View mode.
Actual:
The program window changes its position/dimensions.

Re: Switching from viewer to browser un-maximize the window
Similar situation here, double click opens fullscreen in the Viewer mode when file is open from windows explorer. The Enter key works fine as long as the Switching method is not set to Browser<>Fullscreen | Viewer<>Fullscreen. However, I don't experience resizing of the window problem.
It would be nice to open file from Windows and go straight from the Fullscreen view to the Browser without opening the tab containing the image that is created in the background when you hit the Enter key. That could be a problem. ( and is working fine in the Classic version)
The option of [Browser<>Fullscreen]only in the Interface/Switching mode would be great addition.

In the classic XnView setting of double click and enter key to Browser<>Fullscreen | Viewer<>Fullscreen and by selecting Mode when it starts with the file to Fullscreen-Browser was producing this results:
double click/Enter key on file in windows -> opens XNview in full screen ->double click/Enter key in fullscreen -> Browser no tab open with the image
Same settings in MP version except (Fullscreen-Browser in Mode when it starts with the file) the selection of fullscreen-browser, fullscreen-edit is not there anymore) Fullscreen when starting with file is checked on - gives:
double click/Enter key on file in windows -> opens XNview in full screen ->double click/Enter key in fullscreen -> opens image in viewer not browser.
