XnC Request: Some "Rotate" enhancements

Post by budz45 »

hi,

1.) In XnShell ext I am able to rotate 'based on Exif tag' flip horizontal, flip vertical, rotate. I would like this for XnConvert's "Rotate" function too. Although come to think of it so far this may not needed, it's likes XnConvert already knows it's converting from a landscape-rotated camera picture and it doesn't follow it.

2.) I would like to see a drop-down menu for preseted angles e.g. 90° left/right, 180° left/right

3.) I would like to see a reset button for that angle adjusting dial, perhaps it go next to the entry box located in the middle.

So for XnConvert/Batch Convert I think a simple tickbox option under the "Rotate" action is needed, tickbox would be named like:
' Rotate based on EXIF (lossless) '

I know that XnConvert/Batch Convert can already do this but it's just as a user there is no info signifying this such as an already ticked tickbox would be nice....Just a thought.

Hmmm - where to find? I have version 1.66 and find no EXIF-rotation.

I can't find it either, Peter. I don't think it's already implemented.

Servus XnTriq
I found it in the batch-feature of XnView (Image - lossless rotation), but not in XnConvert.

There is only rotation by angle, but not by exif.

Why it's needed, by default image is automatically rotated following the orientation exif field...

It depends on the software. Some software does not rotate by exif, so the images has to be rotated in conversion.
