XnView crashes on browse (Ubuntu)

Post by David4321 »

I recently installed XnView on Ubuntu 14.04 (I've used it on windows for years), and every time I click the browse button in toolbar, the entire program crashes. It had been working fine on the same computer with a previous Linux OS (Zorin 9).

The only way to open multiple tabs is through file menu, and browser function is not available. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yes, I have it set as default viewing app, and when clicking an image file it opens and I can view. I can navigate that folder with next and back arrows too, and use other tools. I can open new tabs in that xnview instance by using file menu open command. But any time I click the browse icon at far left top in tool bar, the whole app just crashes. Same thing happens when I click the browse command from the file menu.

Strange, and if you start XnView in a folder with only 1 image file, same thing?

Whoa. That worked - I renamed .xnviewmp folder to .xnview, and it's working. What's up with that? Lost my settings, but no big deal. Thanks!

Not really sure how to do that. Folder is 1.2gb, but most of it is thumbs. Do you need thumbs and database?

Hi there,
Is this problem solved? I still have the same problem with XnviewMP/Ubuntu: everything works fine, but when saving files the "filemanager" freezes

It's not the original problem. you have the freeze when pressing the button in file manager?
