Effect Corrupts Jpeg File

Here is a bug that I can repeat over and over.
Version 2.35 (Jan 4, 2016).

Find a jpeg file.
Open to view mode.
Edit the saturation - I set it to 0 in order to have RGB files in grey without having greyscale.

Now double-click to switch from file view to browser mode (without saving - I have my settings set to auto-save).
This corrupts the file.
To fix it, I view the image file in Imagine (which can read this file when XnView cannot!) and re-save it there.

I have it set so there is no confirmation to save when you change from one file to the next.

Yes; in one of the forum threads y'all told me what setting to add, but it's been so long I can't remember now. I've been using XnView for years.

I was able to test XnView v2.35 with your INI, and it does indeed save edited images without asking for my confirmation. However, none of the JPEGs I've used for my experiments…

1. I opened test.jpeg in XnView.
2. In view mode, I went to Image » Adjust » Hue/Lightness/Saturation..., dragged the slider for Saturation to the far left (-100), and applied the change by clicking on OK.
3. Still in view mode, I double-clicked on the opened image. XnView then switched from the viewer to the browser, the edited image was auto-saved, and the thumbnail was updated.

I can't here. They are photos and are about 2.5MB. There is a limit here of 2MB. Zipping jpegs doesn't do anything for size. Can I email them to you? I can send you a copy of one that will corrupt and a corrupted one (which I can, however, fix by opening it in Imagine and then saving it).

I tried on a png file and that doesn't corrupt. Just the jpegs.

I've created a new folder containing just xnview.exe (v2.35) and your xnview.ini.
To my surprise, I have no issues viewing DSCN1971 Copy.JPG nor the de-saturated DSCN1971 Copy Copy.JPG:

I also fed both files to JPEGsnoop to have them checked for any signs of corruption, but they were given a clean bill of health

Really? You have no troubles with the files?
My problem is consistent. I've actually had this issue for a very long time - so it's not just this version.

You can see here the thumbnail is squished and the file properties are not being read.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 with the UAC disabled. I have a 2GB graphics card, 30GB RAM and an Intel Core i7-2600.
I've also got 32 bit Ghostscript 9.05 and 64 bit Ghostscript 9.15 installed, if that makes any difference.
Also, when I upgrade, it is always using the full installer.

What else can we look at?
