[0.78] XnViewMP Database grows and grows continously...

Post by netdev »

My "XnView.db" file grows continously and reached already the size of over 500 MB (and there is no end in sight), although only a hundred files have tags (categories).

A short view to the Database shows that XnViewMP writes not only files with tags (categories), ratings, ect., but also all other files to the Database, although they don't have any tags, etc.

Is it possible to block that behaviour and only write files with tags, ratings, etc. to the Database?

Hello,
.... And with option: Catalog>Maximum size for cached thumbnails set to 0, or 100MB for example ?

Thanks for the tip,

but it doesn't work. It seems that XnViewMP always writes all file names and file properties (e.g. width, height, etc.) from the current folder (browser view) to the database.

... So maybe the limit is only for Thumb.db and not for the Xnview.db file ??? ... Pierre can give the answer and add a new limit option for this db file too, or can create/separate a new db file for the others/(extra blobs) meta-data ex:images-meta.db ?.
