checked and videos display normally under VLC and mplayer.exe
with xnview I can see a first few frames and then the video goes black, but the sound is there.
I tried reinstalling into different folder to re-create registry entries.
The program worked just fine under windows 7.
EDIT: Also this problem is only in browser window not when i double click and video opens in its own tab

Re: Xnview Classic under Win10 video frame is black
hrm, already done that. have latest klite megapack installed. Tried reinstalling this as well as latest xnview but still the same thing.
As a matter of fact I downgraded to win 7 and now have the same issue with this brand new installation,
Also wanted to add that video works just fine in media player so doesn't look like codec issue. Also as i mentioned this problem is only in xnview browser window, Xnview displays correctly when i double click to view in its own window

XnView doesn't use windows media codec, only direct show codec.
For which format do you have problem?

Re: Xnview Classic under Win10 video frame is black
all files are having this problem.
in preview mode for a split second i see video and then it's black. but sound is available/
If I double click to display in its own tab the video plays just fine.
EDIT: another thing is that I can see frames updating if I keep re-sizing the preview window using the drag handle. But if i stop resizing the video goes black again.
