XnView: MP 0.84
OS: Windows 7 - 64 bit
Effect: XnView MP gives error message "An error occurred in updating process!"
XnView MP doesn't change any of the timestamps, and displays above error message.
To reproduce:
1. Browse a folder with .mov file.
2. Select .mov file.
3. On Tools menu, click Change Timestamp.
4. Select any Use option, set all check boxes.
5. Click Write.
Correct behaviour: Timestamps are changed, no error message.
I tried this with versions 0.83, 0.82, 0.79 as well with the same result. Correct behavior returned when I installed version 0.69.

Re: 0.84: Error message when changing timestamp of .mov file
Thank you for your defect report, Stephen. I just tried out your steps above to reproduce the problem. When changing the timestamp while the video is playing in the preview, XnView failed to change the timestamp. But there was no error message. So I can partly confirm your bug.
Re: 0.84: Error message when changing timestamp of .mov file
If the file is playing, then the file is open. So, no change allowed by the OS. The fix is to close the file if it is open - this means that it will reset the playback - change the date(s) and reopen.

same error on 2 video files?stephenschimpf wrote:Thank you very much! I tried older versions 0.83, 0.82, 0.79, etc., and continued getting the error until I got to version 0.69, which seems to work fine.
