In the explorer window, moving with the arrow keys while holding Ctrl allows you to select specific files by pressing Space on the desired files. This is the normal and expected beahavior when navigating with the arrow keys. However, try holding Ctrl and then move left or right to go the previous/next row and the image in the new row will be automatically selected. It can become annoying sometimes.
Up and down work fine, though, so you can use them as a workaround but still it would be nice to have left and right fixed.
Thanks.

Re: 0.83: Bug when selecting files with the keyboard
Until now I didn't know about this way of selecting multiple files. I've tried in Windows Explorer (Thumbnail view) and in XnView 0.84 and could reproduce your problem.
Actually, there are two problems:
1. The problem that you described.
2. In XnView MP you cannot see on which item in the file list currently has the focus.

O.k., thank you, I can also reproduce the problem. Issue 1245 is fixed in next version.
