Xcf files of Gimp 2.10 cannot be displayed
Hello,
just in case that other users have noticed this already : xnviewmp does not display Gimp's xcf-files with the new internal structure (from 2.10).
It is already mailed to the developer plus example files. This thread is just to document that the effect has been reported if somebody should look here and as a place for messages from the developer.
Thanks for the good work so far. Xnviewmp has become my 1&only viewer.

GIMP is open-source. I assume you could just grab it with git and find all the structures in a set of headers somewhere.

Re: Xcf files of Gimp 2.10 cannot be displayed
Every time xnViewMP and (xnView Classic) come across a folder with a file created in gimp 2.10, they hang and ultimately crash. if you can't fix the thumbnails for the new Gimp files, can you at least keep the program from crashing? i have had to figure out which files were created in the new Gimp and remove them from anywhere xnview can find them, and i have gone back to the previous version of Gimp to get around this for now. hardly what i call progress *sigh
Re: Xcf files of Gimp 2.10 cannot be displayed
Hi, I experienced this weird behaviour as well.
I'll keep it short: it happened to me only for one specific Gimp-file that I noticed had a guide in it, unlike most of my other gimp-files. You know a vertical, manually added snap/guide line. I removed it, resaved the xcf-file and viola! - Xnview don't crash when showing the folder as it did before.
I recreated a guide in the gimp-file, which again caused XNview to crash.
I don't have a clue as to why, but I may have stumbled upon a hint to the cause for this bug, that I hope someone wiser can use to fix it in future versions (of Gimp or Xnview, what do I know...!).
Otherwise good job, dear programmers! Have a great new year!
Best, Asser.

This is now worse than before for me and unusable. Just browsing to a directory with xcf files causes one of many types of crashes. There may be more.

Here are a few xcf files that crash with different errors as well as a text file listing the errors.
