Renewed Request: Dual Browsers

Post by JohnFredC »

This topic has been discussed before. I just wanted to bring it up again.

It would be great to have an unlimited number of browser panels.

Then I could select two (or more) browser panels and perhaps click Compare to put them side by side.

Yes, I know this is redundant functionality since I can perform the same activity with two instances of XNView that have been tiled by the system, but it would be more convenient if the multiple browsers would display as tabs inside a single instance of XNView.

I've thought about this for a while and currently use two XNView instances, but it is awkward and inconvenient to arrange the XNView windows if other applications are also running on my desktop.

:) Hello !
Yes, but currently i can make that easily...
- You can or you cannot ?
- I like the John's idea, even limited as a tentative feature, let's say :
2 or 3 panels being available from tabs, like the single actual one…

I'd like to have just 2 panels. Lot of users like file managers. Me too, but it would be really nice to have just basic features like F5, F6, Tab, Space/Insert - few other features are already in xnview (F2, F3, F4, F7...).

Main advantage of this feature in xnview would be 1 or 2 preview(s) and direct access to special "image" features that are available only in xnview.

What I want is just special "file manager" mode with preview(s), I don't want to change current look of xnview!.
