Mapping for shared folders (Win / Mac / Linux)

Post by mkv »

Hi!

Is there this feature, or is it planned that you can map shared folders (Samba shares etc.) in XnViewMP? Example: A Windows user accesses the share under \\folder\ but also as drive under X:\. A Mac user connects to e.g. smb://domain/folder, a Linux user has mounted the share under /media/folder. All these accesses would now get their own database entries, even though they point to the same location.

It would be good to use XnViewMP especially in companies if you could set up a mapping like this:

\\folder\* => \\domain\folder\*
X:\* => \\domain\folder\*
smb://domain/folder/* => \\domain\folder\*
/media/folder/* => \\domain\folder\*

Hello,
the catalogue setting didn't work for me (XnView MP Linux Version 0.93.1 64bits (Mar 7 2019)).
Nor worked to enter the path for my desired destination (smb://myserver/Fotos/).
But I opened the path in the Lubuntu filemanager PCmanFM-qt and with the right mouse button I selected the desired folder and choose the option "open with". Then I was able to select XnViewMP in the applications menue and a new instance of xnview showed me the desired folder.
The path shown is:
/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=myserver.local,share=Fotos/
Hope it helps someone.
And Pierre, thank you very much for the great sofware!
