XnView: MP 1.00 beta3 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 10
Saving an image that is located in a ZIP archive results in "nothing".
Effect: Edited image is lost.
To reproduce:
1. Download the ZIP archive "Numbers-SaveAs.zip" attached to this topic and save it on a local drive. Do not unpack it.
2. Start XnView MP and browse the archive.
3. Double-click on thumbnail of subfolder "Numbers". --> Subfolders "A", "B", "C" and files "1" and "9" are shown.
4. Double-click on thumbnail of subfolder "A". --> Subfolders "A-1", "A-2" and files "2", "7", "8", and "9" are shown.
5. Double-click on thumbnail of subfolder "A-1". --> Image files "3", "9", and "P1010335.JPG" are shown.
6. Double-click on image "P1010335.JPG" and make some adjustment (e.g. Image > Mirror > Vertical)
7. Save the image using "File > Save"
Actual behaviour (bug): Message "Saving image.." appears for a very short instant. The ZIP archive is unchanged, though, i.e. the image has NOT been saved.
Expected behaviour: Consistent behaviour, i.e. either a.) ZIP archive should be updated or b.) a message "File cannot be saved" should appear.

Re: 1.0 b3: ZIP archive: "Save" doesn't save image
Fixed in 1.00 beta 4. "File > Save" is disabled and thus no longer available.
