Save as AVIF doesn‘t work

Using XnView MP 1.5.2 on iMac with Intel processor.

Whenever I try to save an image in AVIF format, I get the error shown in the last screenshot below. XnView MP will create a file with the extension .avif having 0 bytes. The format of the original image doesn't matter. The file name doesn't matter either.

It would be great XnView MP would support it. AVIF seems to be a useful format, it has better compression ratio than WEBP. GraphicConverter 12 on Mac does support it. So there's no general reason why it can't be done on Mac.

That's quite uncomfortable for the user. Other apps such as GraphicConverter are able to save files in AVIF format without such inconveniences.

Today I got a new Mac with Apple chip, and I can confirm that saving as AVIF does work. Thank you very much!
