If I select uncategorized, the display always changes to the top folder level. If I then select folder 2023, for example, “uncategorized” is left. I would like to check any of my folders to see if there are files without a category.

You must also check settings in the "Match" menu, at the top of catalog filter pane.

Yes, I saw that. Unfortunately "uncategorized" disappears when I open a subfolder.

I am unable to search uncategorized in a subfolder. As soon as I click uncategorized, everything from the main "Images" directory is displayed (uncategorized).

Right, the "Match > Current folder" doesn't work :bug:

Waiting for a fix, you can :
- View the chosen folder content in the browser
- Use Tools> Search menu
- Let filename empty
- Tick only "use catalog", and "recursive" if needed
- Add a condition : "categories" "is" and let the field empty
- Search ...

Close search dialog, view another folder , Ctrl F ... etc ...

Re: unmarked categories in current folder

- Display a folder containing X photos without categories
- Catalog Filter , Match > Current folder
- Select "Uncategorized" ...
You will get all uncategorized photos from the entire catalog , instead of getting X photos from current folder. :bug:
.
With tagged photos, it works fine, only tagged photos from current folder are displayed

'Uncategorize' & 'All' doesn't use this setting, it's on full catalog
