Re: 1.8.6 - GhostScript 10.05 x64 don't work
As users are responsible for installing Ghostscript, will this mean that users of the next XnView MP version will have to update their installed Ghostscript version? Or can you manage the Ghostscript change in XnView MP, so that v1.8.7 and later will work with either existing Ghostscript versions or the new version?

Next version will work like now for ghostscript version < 10, and use new method >= 10cday wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 10:22 am As users are responsible for installing Ghostscript, will this mean that users of the next XnView MP version will have to update their installed Ghostscript version? Re: 1.8.6 - GhostScript 10.05 x64 don't work
It seems that the incompatibility with Ghostscript persists in XnView 1.8.7: PDFs cannot be previewed (I have GS 9.53. installed).
Installing GS 10 on Devuan (=Debian 11 ca.) is a mess: it requires updates of all kinds of dependencies that are way too difficult to install ... and compiling GS 10.05 fails with the error message:
<command-line>: error: expected identifier or ‘(’ before ‘float’
make: *** [base/lcms2mt.mak:101: obj/cmscam02.o] Error 1
Was unable to upgrade to GS 10 to try to prev again PDFs.
The Preview label and the Preview icon in Panels and in Info Panels appear to be greyed out. I could not find out what controls the behaviour. Maybe it is not GS 10.
