Wanted: List of Awards given to XnView

Post by helmut »

In the past, XnView has received various awards. Many of them are listed on the Award page.

In near future, the Award page will be redone a bit. Apart from design changes the awards will be updated. I guess there's various awards out there which are not listed on the Award page, yet. If you happen to know a download portal which has given an award to XnView and is not listed on the Award page, yet, let us know, here. The larger the download portal, the better.

"Best freeware" or more to be more precise "Best free design & photo software" from Download.com. That's actually a nice award. Thanks, Xip :-)

This review of v1.61 is dated 01.09.2005, but the date next to the award says “Juli/2003”. :?:

No, it's not an award per se, but it's still a nice plug 8)

:idea: idea :idea:

I believe it would be a good practice to systematically make an analysis of each review in order to list the problems encountered and correct them (with discussion in a dedicated thread if necessary). If there was a misunderstanding/bad use, clarify and explain how to avoid it in the future.

Then, Pierre could contact the reviewer to say that he cares about the issues found in the review (+provide link to the discussion if the reviewer wants to participate) and will keep the reviewer updated about corrections in future versions.

Consequences:
=> 1. Improve XnView
=> 2. Improve XnView's visibility with better and updated reviews

Opinions?
We could start with most important websites first.

Softpedia's Free Image Viewers Challenge

'nuff said :D :P :P 8)

Only one drawback, the favourite's menu that the reviewer missed out :(
