Chewed !
Hello Pierre !
• Left for me (full red)… It's 24 BPP here…
• I drew the two bitmaps for the resources in the EXE in the same style, also with improved dark-blue arrows on idle.
- Do you want for them ?

Let's try the left one.xnview wrote:So left or right icon??Clo wrote: - Below, the arrow as full normal red (left), like I shown above already,
at right without the largest red rank :
(Normally, I'd say that the highlighted arrow should have the same size as the blue symbol which applies for the right draft. But the larger, left arrow is perhaps a bit clearer to see).
Silence…

Good morning,
• “Silence means consent” {Qui ne dit mot consent},
so I have sent you the bitmaps like described with the ‹left style› via E-mail…

One can satisfy everybody (and Dad!) ”… Please, keep them like this, they are visible, finally !
- The one good solution should be to support alternative BMP-DLLs, like Clo proposed several times (unanswered…) and as this exists in Total Commander.

Sent - not used

• I've sent the matching bitmaps to Pierre like I said above, so larger arrows as dark-blue (on idle)
and as full large red arrow when the mouse hovers it.
- Same for horizontal and vertical version (thus, two bitmaps).
- I guess simply that he didn't use them…
- Available HERE …

Loop closed…
Hello !
• The loop is closed, 1.90 final is there, and the tiny arrows points come back, a magnifying glass is needed again
• Hence, a last proposal for a next fix up version, maybe not so hard to implement…
- Since I can't get any answer about the use of configurable external BMP resources DLLs, at the very outside, one could choose the bitmaps for these arrows from a skin folder, in example like below :
BrowserArrow1 is this bitmap :
and BrowserArrow2 is this one :
¤ Notes :
- The names of these entries are the ones used in the resources of the programme…
- The shown pics here have right dimensions.
• So, each user could paint the colours¦arrows s¦he prefers,
and place her¦his own bitmaps in the folder of her¦his favourite skin…

- I support that proposal !
Pierre
- It should be nice to change these bitmaps at will from a skin-folder, as Clo proposes, since obviously no consensus can be found on this.
Aside : In 1.90.1 no red point at all for the preview << left (layout #4)

It doesn't really matter to me, but why is the "gripper" graphic design (the dots portion of the bitmap) part even necessary? It is visually confusing...meaning it looks a lot like jpg noise on my monitor. It also looks "90's" to me...
I think a simple black triangle in a simple contrasting rectangle would be sufficent for me:
Perhaps the graphic could "invert" if the user's chosen Windows theme forces the splitter toward black?
I also suppose that a user configurable bitmap would solve everyone's issues with this little thing, but that really does seem like "overkill", doesn't it?

Why not ?
Hello John !
• It should be a good opportunity to test that system we know in TC too…
- I mean with small bitmaps DLLs (easy to create)
- I proposed it also for the Layouts in the menu…
- With bitmaps in a skin-folder, this might be easier for Pierre I guess, since we can have already some ones
for the Markers and Categories, the Compare tool-bar and Export dialogue…
