VTF: Support for shell extension
I had a discussion with the author of SageThumbs about support for the VTF file format (support for this format was added to XNView with version 1.9.73).
Here is the thread: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 6&start=75
It seems, that VTF reading is not established via plug-in, but via XnView's implemented functionality.
Because SageThumbs uses the GFL library, there is the question, whether a new release of SageThumbs, that uses an updated version of the library would have VTF support, too.
I really hope, that's the case, because VTF thumbnail support for the Windows Explorer is one of those things I am looking for.

Re: VTF: Support for shell extension
I reinstalled the whole XNView full package, renamed the XnViewShellExt.dll to something else for being able to replace it with the new one, copied everything form the PlugIns folder into the ShellEx folder and restarted my PC.
But I have still no thumbnails for VTF files...
Maybe I am doing something wrong? Do I need to reregister the new dll file after replacing the old one (by the way: I tried the register.bat, but got an error)?

Re: VTF: Support for shell extension
I've tried and no problem.
Replace with the xnviewshellex.dll sent, copy Plugins folder (with VTFLib.dll) in xnviewshellex.dll folder, restart your session

Re: VTF: Support for shell extension
Guess, I make something wrong...probably a new installer would help testing it correctly.

Always nothing?Brandon wrote:Guess, I make something wrong...probably a new installer would help testing it correctly.

Re: VTF: Support for shell extension
Well, still don't get it working...maybe it's my system or I am just too dumb to replace the dll correctly. Maybe someone else could test this.
