[REQ] Conflicting option & feature, I wish use both…

:) Hello !

• For a long while, in one hand we have an option : “Don't start Browser thumb-nail”
- In the other hand, we have too a « Reopen (favourite) folders » menu-list from the subsidiary small button of the «Browser» button, in the tool-bar of the main window.

• Whether the option above is enabled, one cannot reopen a folder to display its pics direclty as thumb-nails. Any entry of that list opens the Browser-window, but empty.

• I guess that this behaviour is inconsistent. This option and this feature might work independently one another.
- Currently, the option takes precedence always. I would wish to use as well the option, and be able too to open a folder among the favourite ones from the list when needed.

- Maybe a supplemental option could solve this ? Something like :
[x] “Don't start thumb-nails, but enable Favourite-list…”

- To tick / remove the nick of the option continually isn't handy at all…

:?: What do you think ?

 Kind regards,
Claude

Exception for favorites? That is interesting.
-Could something similar be accomplished by:
'Don't Start Browser Thumnail if Directory contains more than ###MBytes'?
(It is an unusual option, was its purpose was to avoid large directories?)

Why not ---

:) Hi again!
…Don't Start Browser Thumbnail if Directory contains more than ###MBytes…
- Why not ? It could be useful for some machines, not very powerful, having a limited amount of RAM… I support this wish.
- This needs to measure the whole folder-content, though.
- Of course, Pierre is quite able to do this, I guess ;)
- It should be simpler to pick that datum from Explorer, but (at least under Win 98 SE here), it's missing :|

- However, it's available from all alternative file-managers; i.e., it could be recovered from Total Commander; XnView works for thumb-nails in Total Commander, so a reverse “service” seems possible :D { I acted to get this partnership ages ago… }
- Just an idea, of course…
