Adobe Soundbooth MP3

Post by XnTriq »

I assume it's because of the XMP metadata in these files that XnView v1.97.8 won't playback MP3s produced by Adobe Soundbooth.

The samples play here, having only ffdshow codec installed. v.1.97.8 (Debian 6.0 + Wine 1.1.42)

Other codecs

3rd party codecs have been more stable and capable for me. Also, having MS codecs installed (from DirectX9?) will sometimes show images attached to the mp3 instead of playing them (which did not occur with only ffdshow).

Thanks for checking, marsh :-)

My tests were done on Windows 2K SP4 and XP SP3. I didn't install QuickTime, RealPlayer or any other 3rd-party codecs on these PCs. Except for security hotfixes, Windows Media player hasn't been updated. The same goes for DirectX: I only have the basic components that came with the OS.

BTW: The “Manager” in Zoner Photo Studio 13 Home also doesn't recognize Soundbooth MP3s.

No problems on this side after reinstalling both DX9 and updated versions of l3codecx.ax
