XnView 1.98 does not always open TIFF files correctly...

I had been running 1.96.2 for two years. Works fine and is stable. Downloaded 1.98 today and find that sometimes it does not open large tiff files correctly. The result of loading a large tiff file is difficult to explain -- it just is a series of vertical colored lines and is different each time it is opened.

I have reverted to 1.96.2 and everything is fine. I can provide screen shots that shows the problem if anyone is listening.

I installed and reinstalled 1.98 over 5 times and each time the problem appears.

Environment: W7 64 Pro; large tiff files -- greater than 100meg in size. Small tiffs seem to open ok.

You open your tiff by File>Open? The browser is opened?
