Bug in Batch Rename function

Post by sansrisque »

Priority: non critical (but annoying ;) )
The batch rename function enforce a default value of "_##" when a simple constant string in specified in the Name Template field of the batch rename windows.
Why is this a bug?
In a hierarchy of folders, I have in each of them a file name folder.jpg
Using the search function, I get the list of all "folder.jpg" that I want to rename in the "Batch Rename" list.
I want all the name "folder.jpg" files to be renamed "folder-orig.jpg"
since each are in their own folder, there is not need for any series post indexing.
This unwanted default is enforced whether "Name Template" is active or not, i.e. a simple replace "string1" With "String2" suffers the same issue/default "_##" added to the renaming template.

Thanks for all the devs for the cool work!
