1.93.3 - SE Installation still fails while register DLL/OCX

Hello,

since a couple of versions (I think 1.92.1) any kind of installation (update or clean reinstall) fails while registering XnViewShellExt.dll with exit-code 0x5.
I also tried the stand alone setup and zip-version 2.20 of the shell extension - the same error occurred with error-code 0x8007007e.

My OS is WinXP Pro SP2 english with german MUI-pack.
I hope someone can help me.

Best regards

Hello

there are many postings regarding the question "Install XnView to USB-stick". What is about XnView-Shellextenison? Is it possible in the same way?

The current version 2.30 has an old readme.txt (Dec. 2007) and some german strings are missing in the german language file.

Printing with Shell Extension

Some months ago I made in the thread
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=13433&
a suggestion:
The software "Shell Picture" (http://baxbex.de/shellpicture.html - no freeware!) is very similar to "Shell Extension", but has interesting print functions.
Maybe you can add print functions too?
Are there some plans to add this feature?

Hello Pierre,
Could you please add an option to resize to relative sizes in %, like 50%(x50%), etc.?

TIA

Funny thing happened to me today:

I set the ShellExt to open a submenu, and now I can't get it back to the way it was. When I select "Options" from the submenu, I get a screen with information on the file, but not the option screen for the ShellExt I used to get from the "Options" in the main Context Menu.

Any way to fix that other than uninstall and reinstall the whole thing?

Resize improvement

Hi,
XnView Shell Extension is a real time saver. However, one thing in it could be improved in my opinion. When resizing a batch of images to, let's say, size of 1280x1024 pixels, portrait images will get a height of 1280 pixels.

I think most of the time it would be more convenient if resizing to 1280x1024 meant that no image will be taller than 1024 and wider than 1280 pixels. So the resized images would always fit into 1280x1024 screen.

Of course there could be a switch between current and propose behaviour in options. I think that would satisfy all users.

Thanks in advance if you consider the proposition :)
