I've tried QM (quick mailer) and foxmail, and experience the exact same thing. Mailto from within windows works fine, mailing from within xnview does nothing at all. I wonder if it could be because I always install xnview from the zip file and not the installer? Maybe the installer adds some extra registry entries or something that makes the email function work?
I'm on XP media center edition.

No the problem is not from the zip. No crash, just nothing?

Xnview's email dialog will pop up, asking what address to send it to, providing a place to include text in the email, etc, but when I fill it out and click ok, it just closes. Period. No error messages, xnview itself stays running, but the email prog doesn't launch.

And if you try with outlook, it's your default mail client??

Never tried with outlook, don't like outlook, not even sure if this comp has outlook installed.

Edit: I just tried setting the default mail prog to opera and to outlook express, same results as with foxmail & QM. Once you click Ok on the send by email dialog, the dialog closes & nothing else happens.

Nope, the new prog doesn't work. Still does nothing at all once you click ok.

:) Hello !

• This is expressed on the previous page, it's a known issue with some versions of Outlook…
- I suppose that the lack of a clear available documentation could prevent Pierre to fix up that…

• Anyway, here I can make the function works always with Eudora® as default mailer, I checked it many times successfully.

 Kind regards,
Claude

I've tried with xnview & foxmail/opera, and can't send an email, i don't understand why? Perhaps a problem with MAPI. I've tried with another software that use MAPI too, and same problem as XnView!

Outlook, TBird, Eudora & TheBat seems to not have the problem...
