Tintin wrote:The process will not terminate if I have popped a menu of many kind (RMB of menu line), if I just open a pic and then close XnView the process is terminated and this is 100% reproducible on this very machine. Machine runs Windows XP pro, Danish version. Btw, the tooltip incantation in Options-Browser-Show tooltip was ser to danish keywords at installation and this prevented the tooltip from showing, so maybe the un-terminated process is a result of the OS language?
If you open xnview, use a popup menu, and close it, xnview will never termintate? With the 1.91?

Correct. The GUI closes but the process is not terminated.

In addition, when I have several instances of Xnview open at the same time I can get lockups and have to kill the older instances in task manager before I can contact XnView again

Windows XP pro SP2, Danish
Symantec antivirus corp edition (will try to disable it tomorrow if the machine allows it)
This is a rolled out version from the IT department here so I do not have any real control of all settings. But so far, software have played nicely with me.

OK, found the culprit. Thank you sysinternals for good monitoring products! :)

The trouble was my dictionary software (Gyldendals røde ordbøger) which monitors the clipboard. The software doing the actual work is QUICKfind by the danish company TEXTware A/S. Still a bit of a problem for me since I can not use my dictionaries and have a functional XnView. Wierd thing is that if I switch off the motnitoring in the dictionary software XnView still refuses to exit and the TextWare software still monitors XnView... Badly written code on thier part indeed.

Would there be any possibility to fix this bug within XnView? Since I do need my dictionaries every so often (new country and language), the need to kill XnView manually after use is quite cumbersome. I guess that not too many people are affected by this bug but since all my other application play nice here I would love XnView to do so as well. If I could provide debug traces or something I would be much obliged.
