like riemenschneider said, fully customizable hotkeys are perfect as you can set them however you want!
maybe it would be best if they are stored in an .ini file.

I don't think it will be implemented in the next version. Have you tried HotkeyP already? You can change almost any hotkey in almost any program, you can also create new hotkeys/shortcuts, more above.

hotkeyP useless

Please implement keyboard shortcuts settings in xnview. hotkeyp is not good solution, 1) not many people want to run "another memory eating" tools, 2) that tool doesn't help anyway, because it intercepts only simple hotkeys and also performs only simple actions.

What is DEFINITELY missing in xnview, is support of multimedia keys. Multimedia keys, such as ZoomIn,VolumeDown,Stop,Play are standard for couple of years as mulitimedia keyboards arrived. I'm quite surprised Xnview still doesn't support them. If you want to rotate a picture with "Rotate" button on your keboard, it doesn't work. It does work however on vast number of other applications. Zoom in/out somehow works. Zoom reset doesn't work.

Please let's intercept at least RotateRight and ZoomReset media keys. Thanks.

1. HotkeyP is ""another memory eating" tool"? Really??
2. Only simple hotkeys / simple actions? Check the Help!!

1. yes, im fed up to have 100 of tray tools and than another small helper tools
2. yes it's absolutely limited. i checked the help file and there's just simple shortcuts possible, and actions are limited as well. i dont see possibility to intercept and/or simulate media keys.
anyway, image viewer should definitely support Rotate[Right] and ZoomReset media keys. even Acrobat Reader, a PDF viewer, supports it.

1. Then don't use so many tools. I'm usong HotkeyP instead of many other small "one feature" tools.
2. HotkeyP can simulate any keyboard shortcut. What exactly do you need? Perhaps I can help you. But first read the help again and check also this topic:

How to change, or/and create new keyboard shortcuts

1. well thats why i dont want hotkeyp or any other one-function tool :)
2. i read that topic before. hotkey doesnt help. it cannot detect media keys. it works only with 10years old keyb.shortcuts (the only new feature is Win key). its spy tool can't even detect simple keys (A..Z), Menu key. Please dont offer me this tool anymore, its really not good in my case;)

i'm just asking for support of MEDIA KEYS, which are common for many users around world (most Logitech, Microsoft, Genius etc. keyboard have such keys). common tools (Acdsee, acrobat, internet explorer etc) utilise them.
thanks anyway for great picture viewer!

1. HotkeyP is NOT "one-function tool", currently I'm using 333 commands in HotkeyP. Again, check the HotkeyP Help.
2. OK, if you don't want to tell me what exactly do you need, I can't help you.

I want to tell you the request and I repeated it in each answer - support of media keys. RotateRight key should rotate right (Shift-R), ZoomReset key should reset zoom to 100% (*).

This should work, with HotkeyP:
dog wrote:RotateRight key should rotate right (Shift-R)
Hotkey: RotateRight
Command: Macro to active window
Parameters: \shift.r xnview.exe
dog wrote:ZoomReset key should reset zoom to 100% (*)
Hotkey: ZoomReset
Command: Macro to active window
Parameters: \multiply xnview.exe
