Currently fullscreen from browser mode doesn't support Read ahead/Cache behind.
And will it?
Perhaps
Well, it does make sense, right? I would also like to see that happen. To me it's expected behaviour.

Me too! I think it's very important, viewing large images is very annoying with a delay...

Using fullscreen still takes much longer than switching pictures in the viewer. Try it with +500kB JPGs.

Do you have cache behind & read ahead?
And do you have options/Preview/High quality?

Of course, caching is enabled.

I did have High Quality enabled in the Browser's preview options as you said though. Disabling that increased the speed significantly.

But this is unexpected to me since i have high quality activated for the viewer, too, and it's faster than the fullscreen (preview) nonetheless. Fullscreen even shows the hourglass during the switch - the viewer doesn't. So the viewer seems to be doing something quicker than the fullscreen preview.

That, and the browser's preview is ugly with high quality off.

Right it's strange, there is a delay. I'll take a look...

I just tried the version you sent me and there seems to be no speed difference anymore. Good job! ;)

Fixed in RC5.

Hacker could you retest please?

Edit: Never mind, Pierre+Danny+me=fixed for sure :)

Confirmed fixed. A question, still - does it only work in lite fullscreen? Because a delay seems to be still there in Filmstrip layout for instance.
