In May, 2011 this suggestion arose, but there's been no progress in seven (7) years.
I recently struggled when copying a graphic into a Word document, but no metric units* were available in MP.
XnV and MP produced different sizes from the same file Ctrl-C'ed graphic into a Word page, XnV looking more accurate.
(Ctrl-C in MP, Rght-clk Paste in Word produced the path/filename! From XnV the graphic was pasted, as wanted.)
(Irfanview behaves the same way as legacy XnV.)
*were not metrics devised in France..?

In MP, you need to use Ctrl+Shift+C (copy only the bitmap data)

Sorry for bumping old thread but i need help.
I resized my image using XnView resize panel and set to print size to 5x6 cms.
However in %100 (real) zoom mode, when i measure the picture with a real ruler over the screen, i get 7,5x9 cm measure which is not what I want. It's almost %50 bigger when I measure with real ruler on the computer screen.
What am i missing?
I just want a REAL 5x6 cm picture same on screen and printed on paper in all cases.
Note: I found out default DPI was 150, so that was the reason, I changed it to 100, now it's OK. But why default DPI is 150?
I read DPI value is not embedded into image and also not an image-specific data, but it is a calculated value based on image resolution. Is it correct? It acts as PPI which I expected to see in XnView as the correct term.
Thanks!
