I can not view webp files, not saving in that format. If i export a file with XnViewMP in webp format than i cannot view it.

WebP files does not open for me either,
im using xnview mp v0.61 on linux mint 15 32bit.
In Help > About > Formats, the entry for webp says:
Format, Read, Write, Extension
WebP, Yes, Yes, webp,wep
and in About > Plugins, there is a listing for:
Filename, Description, Copyright
webp.so, WebP format (read/write), (C) Google Inc.
Saving as .webp:
If i open an image for example a .jpg,
and save it as .webp, the .jpg stays open.
If i choose File > Export, and select the WebP tab,
the right image (that shows a preview of what the image will look like when exported),
turns black, but the size of how big the exported webp will be is displayed under the preview.
If i copy part of an image and import it Edit > Import clipboard,
and choose to save it as .webp,
the image gets saved but the imported image closes and another image opens.
Opening a .webp image:
If i right click on a .webp file in the xnview mp browser,
the "Open" context menu option is grayed out and unclickable.
If i choose File > Open... , and then choose webp from the,
"All Files" dropdown list, all the .webp files in that folder are listed,
but if i select one and click open,
or if i right click in the linux mint file browser (Nemo) and choose,
"Open with other application..." and choose xnview mp,
xnview mp opens a tab with the name: filename.webp,
it has a black square as a thumbnail on the tab,
and a dialog box get's displayed in the middle of xnview mp with the message:
Error
File can't be loaded!
Opening a .webp in google chrome:
If i drag and drop a .webp image i have saved in xnview mp,
into google chrome, they get displayed without any problems.
