Well then, perhaps I must throw also myself gas on fire:

It is correct what I said but ...only sometimes. In fact, it seems that the area in which IPTC/XMP editor writes the metadata isn't read by other programs - specifically Adobe InDesign which it seems that it reads only XMP.

In order to workaround this I open the file in Photoshop enter in its Metadata editor (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+I) close it without making any change (Ps does fixes/copies the metadata in background in other areas) and save the file. Then if I open it in InDesign it is ok.
Hence there are problems also with TIFF files.
