alignment prob

Hello Helmut,

I tried my best to reproduce .. no luck again (is this good news or bad news?)
but ... (now on 1.80.2);
- options "save last window position" = yes
"different pos and sizes for viewer and browser" = yes
"fit image to window height"
- maximize browser; dblclick on first image
- browse some images in viewer (pgdown)
- close viewer (ESC)
==> main window shows still maximized but the child windows (list view et.al.)
no longer fit to them (gray background area - like in the screenshot above -);
they look to be resized _as if_ the browser did _not_ have maximized before!
(child windows are arranged dependend on the not-maximized state)
I guess its the same realignment prob source as my original problem.

ps: restoring manually the original window position and browsing/viewing again
sometimes i get the effect that the preview window's content is not positioned
correctly (as in the screenshot above). This appears to be more sporadic.

kind regards,
a guest

:) Hi !
- You could make the file as a ZIP or RAR archive, then encode it either as MIME *.B64 or as UUE, or XXE, this might reduce the size on the screen here…
- Paste it as [ code ] … [ /code ] in the message.
- I bet that the Team is quite able to recover the file then…

You can place .ini files in the forum, but for heaven's sake, no UUE or XXE encoded images! The post would be endlessly long. Please send sample images to Pierre, he might upload it to the general download server.

• Hi !
- It was about the INI file of course, not an image-file !

retest with 1.80.3

Hello Pierre,
thanks a lot for the new version!
of course i was very interested to test with the new 1.80.3 :-)
and indeed it is much better (no gray frames like in the screenshot above),
but however imo it is still somehow irritating; see testcases below.
Kind Regards!
klaus2

testcase 1:
[x] General>>remember last window position/size
[x] General>>Use different position/size for browser and view
Maximize Browser window (by dblclick on caption bar)
dblclick on image, pgdown for to get next image;
then ESC for to return to the browser
Now dblclick on the caption bar to the restore the 'original' non-maximized size
---> size of the browser is the same as the size of the viewer,
although i told to use different size/position

testcase 2:
[ ] General>>remember last window position/size
[x] General>>Use different position/size for browser and view
problem 1: by that i cannot "save" my user-defined window height during sessions
(with restart of xnview the viewer is set to the size of the browser -> i cannot save my viewer's size)
problem 2: (dont sure if it is really a problem):
Maximize Browser window (by dblclick on caption bar)
dblclick on image, pgdown for to get next image;
then ESC for to return to the browser
---> size of the browser is (in difference to testcase 1) identical with
its original size, but the browser lost its maximized state although
it did not tell him do de-maximize.

So the issues are:
allow to have really distinct sizes of browser and viewer
and to be able to save a viewer's size/position
