:) Hello Pierre !

- How I see the issue, certainly in another state of mind :

- In "View" mode, supposing that the "Loop" option must be disabled —>
1. Buttons, shortcuts or whatever to get the next / previous folder in the sub-tree of a directory in which an image is open, when you have viewed the last image of the current (sub)-folder, or came back to the first one. Then, we can browse it with the usual means.
2. Whether the browsed folder has not any sub-dirs., jump to the next / previous directory in the drive-tree.
- Maybe this needs two couples of commands -with and without sub-dirs - but anyway, I don't see any need to display the folders themselves as "View", we have the browser for this !

• Hoping it's clear,

 Kind regards,
Claude

I also wouldn't want to see a folder in edit view.

Xjigger- I've only used a couple of those progs myself, and I always use them for viewing comics in archives, so I don't know for certain how well they work with directories of images.
However, I just ran a check with Cdisplay, and you can open the next folder the same way you open the next archive. Just right click and choose "load next files" or hit shift+L. This will load the next folder in the parent folder of your current folder. (ie If you're in comics\issue-1, that will take you to comics\issue-2, comics\issue-3, etc.)

Sorry but i don't understand, how do you show folder in vew mode??
I think he means to have the folder tree in view mode, essentially like browser mode without thumbnails. Both picwalker and natural vision have something like this:
http://allspark.net/cypherswipe/picwalker.png
http://allspark.net/cypherswipe/natural-vision.png
In both these cases, you can click the folder to go to a different folder, and simply scroll on the image to go to the next image (it'll scroll to the bottom of the current image, then jump to the next one). I think that this is essentially what oliver nad dreamer want (although they might actually want it in fullscreenmode rather than view mode).

It would be same as folders enabled in thumbnails mode in browser, e.g.: there are these subfolders and images in folder X:

folder1, folder2, folder3, image1.jpg, image2.jpg, image3.jpg

In fullscreen (or Viewer), when you are on image2.jpg, press Page Up and following images/folders are shown...

- press Page Up again
- [folder3]
- press Page Up again
- [folder2]
- press Page Up again
- [folder1]
- press Page Up again
- [..]

When you'd press Enter or double click on folder or [..], you'd go to appropriate folder, same as in browser.

I think it would be very useful and easy to implement, since it's the same behavior as in browser and we have an option for it already (in Alpha version). ; )
