Yes, probably, I have very long 'cold' start too, in 1.82.

Moved to "Bug Reports".

I'm not sure.

Guest probably found a reason, check his screenshot (above).

- restart PC
- open any image in explorer/file manager (with many images in folder, e.g. 500)
- exit xnview
- open the same image again

My test - 250 images in folder - cold start 4 seconds, second/third start 0.6/0.7 sec.

You open a picture from a large folder in xnview (browser not opened), and you have this delay?

Probably just my ini, but I have to test more.

Not fixed in 1.82.2. Do you need my ini?

I think it's quite important thing - speed at startup - and there are at least two users with this problem...

Some more information.

There is a delay also with default settings, not just with my ini.

Problem could be 'Plugins' folder, could other user test it without Plugins folder in XnView folder? I have no delay without it.

Sometimes there is a delay also without restart, after few minutes/hours, strange.

Windows XP SP2, XnView 1.82.2

Perhaps you can download Tweak UI [ http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/down ... rtoys.mspx ]? There is a setting to adjust menu speeds [ in mouse category ].

But I mean that when I open any image in explorer whole xnview window is not shown - it is shown after a delay 4-6 seconds, when I close it and then open the same image again, delay is just 0.6-0.7 sec.
