Regenerated thumbnails from sRGB and AdobeRGB images using 1.6.2 are now rendered the same, but both are too dull on a wide gamut monitor. So some progress, but still not there yet. I'm away from my main computer until next week, but will retest there with a range of monitor profiles to see if I can work out what's happening.

My latest test uses a signgle red test patch (RGB = 150,0,0) and I check how it's rendered in various packages
In XnView MP 1.6.2 the thumbnails are rendered as 135,27,16 (too dull) and the full screen image is rendered as 150,1,0 (correct)
In Adobe Bridge the thumbnail is rendered as 150,2,0 (correct)

You have not the same in thumbnail & full screen? Even after 'rebuild thumbnails'? No sharpen or gamma in settings>Thumbnail?

Yes - rebuilt thumbnails and full screen views are not rendered the same. Full screen is OK, thumbnails are too dull. I have the following settings
Thumbnail
>Create High Quality - Yes
>Use embedded - No
>Use alpha channel - No
>Sharpen thumbnail - No
>Use gamma correction - No

General
>ICC>Use ICC profile for monitor - Yes

But it doesn't seem to make any difference what monitor profile I set.

XnView MP 1.6.2 Ventura 13.6.1

I've also emailed a copy of my laptop icc profile in case you need it, and the red test patch images.

I'm pleased to confirm that the high quality thumbnails generated from Photoshop generated sRGB and AdobeRGB jpgs are now rendered correctly using XnViewMP 1.6.3 on a wide gamut iMac display on MacOS 13.6.1. Excellent THANKS!!

I'm still seeing some issues with the thumbnails generated for my Lumix RAW files, but I need to investigate this further as that maybe due to my in camera jpg settings. I'll also check whether it happens with any other RAW file formats (Canon and Sony). I'll report back if I find a problem.

Further tests show that although the problem is fixed for the thumbnails of AdobeRGB and sRGB jpgs created by Photoshop, the problem remains for AdobeRGB jpgs created in camera which are rendered too dull. Looking at the EXIF data for the files, the difference seems to be that XnViewMP is working correctly when the jpg contains an embedded AdobeRGB profile (as created by PS), but not when the profile isn't embedded (as created by most cameras which only set flags to denote color space). See color space info on this page https://exiftool.org/TagNames/EXIF.html

Let me know if you need me to post example files.
