So for users with outdated OS Win7 , I suggest you to still provide the face tag zip package, and the information to unzip it in AddOns folder :
In
https://www.xnview.com/wiki/index.php?t ... _Face_tags Wiki page, add a line like this :
"For Win 7 users, download this
zip file , unzip it in AddOns folder and restart XnViewmp"

I copied archive.dll from V1.4 , and pasted it in XnViewMP folder ( I:\3 temp\XnViewMP\ for V1.6.4)
to get face tagging on window 7:
I have downloaeded now version 1.4.5 zip, unzipped, searched in that ... but I dont see any archive.dll in it.
Ok, must be really 1.4.0.

So then I had do overwrite the existing version of that file.
so resumee? The new version on windows 7 doesn not allow to download the plugin -> Errormessage
replacing the archive.dll? seems to work.
Downloading plugin works then. But i have it downloaded manuall anyways before.
the face tag is not under tools but under Menu>Metadata.
have not played around with that not yet.
It all worries me a bit. Should i be worried?
I appeal to the developer community not to exclude Windows 7 users or make it difficult for us.

And to make this plugin work so that people are added to the catalog, up to V1.4.5 you need to validate the Metadata > Import XMP keywords option.
Perhaps, it will be better to wait for next version of "Face tag" plugin to ask for an update of wiki doc (see previous posts)

Is there any guidelines on how to write my own plugin for XnView MP?
I am interested to implement
this functionality.
