Hello ,

Recently I have noticed that after Windows 10 2004 May Update right click context menu takes long time to appear on some video or music files.
I 've tested it on many systems and the problem remains.

Can this thing be fixed?

Thanks in advance,
Antonis

I'm new to this so I suspect this is pretty obvious for anyone else here but, XnView Shell Extension and SageThumbs basically do the same thing, isn't it?

I mean, they may have different features but the main function is to provide thumbnails and previews of many graphic formats in Windows Explorer, isn't it?

And with respect to full screen fast image viewing is XnView a sort of freeware ACDSee (with different features, of course)?

If I want a full screen image viewer and also thumbnails and previews in Windows Explorer, do I have to install both XnView and XnView shell Extension or XnView already includes the functionality of XnView Shell Extension?

Hello,

Converting to TIFF with LZW does not work (

// at the same time, LZW + Predict reduces the file size

And is it possible to make LZW by default for converting to TIFF?

Many thanks Pierre.

I recently downloaded this beautiful gem of a shell extension on my old Windows 8 laptop.

I am very pleased for webp support which is exactly why I downloaded it.

Please add back "File's Icon" feature for the Options and perhaps also add Imgur support to the Options menu.

Shell extension 4.1.2.0 works fine on my Windows 19043.962 (21H1).
But i would like a progress bar or message box or window on long file operations.
On resizing 20 or more big pictures e.g. 14000px to 50% the windows explorer seems to freeze and the mouse hourglass appears.
It would be nice to see what is happening.

Best wishes

For me, as user and minor-league programmer, I see the problem here: Where is the border between a "small and quick right click menu" and a "full powered software app"? The basis idea "KISS" has to be separated from "nice tool, but I'm missing this and that ..." ..
For me, I would do this mentioned job with XnConvert ..

Is there a full list of which file formats this allows to show as thumbnails? I don't seem to be able to see any definitive list anywhere. Or is it capable of displaying all the formats that xnview supports? I don't really want the viewer as I have a setup I like already, so just want thumbnail displays :)

ShellExt can support all file formats as XnView (if you have the plugins)

Hi, I have heard about XnView as well as XnView Shell Extension, I finally decided to try them and it looks interesting, but with XnView Shell Extension, how can I resize one, or several images, with a custom size?
Could this option be implemented?

P.S. sorry, if it is not well understood, I use google translator.

Thank you very much.

Multiple file convert: -> select multiple files
Custom size: -> Submenu "Convert ..". The dialogue offers you some options.

Thanks Peter2, sorry I didn't answer you before, I don't receive notifications of new answers.

I came back to find a solution, I try to reduce from the XnShell extension, and I have seen that editing the XnViewShellExt-Resize.txt file you can put other measures, the bad thing is that the reduction is not proportional, you can not block the aspect ratio, or I do not know how you can block the aspect ratio in the XnShell extension.
