thank you. Still, do you plan native support for these keys in some version of Xnview?

You're welcome. Native support would be better, of course, perhaps in the new XnView MP.
BTW second hotkey should be ZoomReset, I have changed it in the previous post.

Today I'm again making decision whether to allow standard multimedia keys for every application or modify them to work only for XnView (make those keys send keyboard shortcuts like "ShiftR" or "*"). I'm so sad because I'm more than 100% sure that this should be supported natively by any multimedia application.. I have no problem with those keys in Internet Explorer, Opera, Windows image viewer, Acrobat, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher.. Please:)

If you create the new shortcuts in HotkeyP for these actions, also original actions should still work. At least you can try it.

Sorry but that's not answering the problem. These nice buttons are there for some reason - to help access most regular functions QUICKER. If I wanted to use painful shortcuts like Ctrl+Alt+NumPlus, I'd not join this thread. We are talking about image viewer not scripting engine nor programming IDE!! Imagine tons of pictures you see daily in email attachments, storage cards. And you want to quickly zoom them, rotate them sometimes. That's why hardware producers added such buttons and they are now standard. Not supporting them is the same as omitting mouse scroll wheel. Was XnView also 10 years late with support of the scroll wheel?

Shame shame... I'm wondering why is it hard to admit it's a must, I think at least half of population has multimedia keyboard.

I just tried to help you, I know it's just a workaround, but I can't help you more. I agree, it would be useful (even if I don't have those buttons on my multimedia keyboard).

Mouse wheel IS working good here, it's even customizable (previous/next image, scroll up/down, zoom). Also the mouse shortcuts are supported and quite useful IMHO, e.g. right b.+wheel, right b.+left b.

As an old ACDSee user I find it for a bit annoying that there is no way to remap in XnView some of the keys I most frequently use in ACDSee.
I would like to request a key mapping functionality for all XnView keyboard shortcuts. The proposed workaround (to use external application for this purpose) is unacceptable for me and probably many others. From technical viewpoint such a feature is trivial to implement and some multimedia applications like The KMPlayer (
http://www.kmplayer.com/forums) already have it.
Thank you,
A. Hobbs

hi!
thanks!
can i map multimedia keys there (eg Logitech or any other manufacturer's keys ZOOM+,ZOOM-,ROTATE etc)?

that's my issue with xnview:) i know xnview is not a multimedia application at all, and multimedia keys is absolutely fresh technology, but i still hope xnview will increase the number off applications supporting these keys from 99.999% to 100%;)))
