I did. Open pic from TC into browser mode, hit enter (preview mode with maximized window), then hit and hold picture down button - XnView rushes through 2 or 3 pictures and then crashes immediately with a BEX error (whatever that is). Vista 32.

If I navigate too quickly in 1.96 beta 1 the viewer cannot complete loading/displaying the file and shows black in the viewer where it hasn't finished reading the data.
Does any one else encounter this behavior?
Awesome

I did and it work perfectly for me with XP SP3. I only replaced the old .exe and manifest and I am not experiencing the issues mentioned above.
Thanks for the improvement, it makes a huge difference and makes XnView use much smoother and enjoyable. Great work! I will continue to recommend XnView to everyone around me
Keep the good work,
Cedrick

think you need to replace the dll and support files too, not just the exe

There is an error in 1.96 beta, could you send me your email by PM to send you a test version?

It still doesn't work on the first viewed image in XnView v2.32 (2015-03-16).
In this case, the next and the previous image need to be decoded in advance.
An advanced feature would be to specify the number of images to be decoded in advance and to keep in memory, e.g.:
[ ] Decode next images in advance [integer in spinner]
[ ] Keep previously viewed images in memory [integer in spinner]

I agree with ^
I would like more options for caching of next/previous images. The next thing is add more image scaling algorithms like Lanzcos or HQ Bicubic
