We're talking at cross-purposes:
No, The OP is for format colors in general. I scrolled up in these post and as seen in my own screen shots, is view=details
This is suppose to work also under veiw=details. "My question"
Pierre even ask this above for view=thumbnails.

But never mind, I found the answer, Format colors is Not working in veiw=details,
Reason= If using Dark Theme Still not sure if this is right or wrong, would be nice to know

If you want a separate bug report for each view mode then we need to rename this post topic to whatever view you think it implies.
Then make a new 1 for each view mode.

Discussions can be on general topics but bug reports must be for a specific bug otherwise the bug report will go on and on and will never be closed. I've just changed the topic title to make the bug report more specific.

From my point of view this is a bug. For further discussion and handling I've just created a new bug report, see http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=35166

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.85 beta 2. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Initial problem seems to be fixed. But in settings the entry is still without brackets.

 Tested - Not fixed.

I've added "avi" via dialog.

if you add an entry via text field, bracket is not used.

Pierre, we agreed that brackets are used always (see your and my postings above). Please add the brackets - this will avoid people asking over and over again in future.

Aha. I didn't know and understand so I wonder how other users should know and understand.

Code: Select all

formatColor-25="[jp2],237 237 202,0 0 0"
formatColor-26="svg,57 0 171,0 0 0"
What's the difference between these two entries? What does the first one exactly do? What does the second entry exactly do?

[jp2] is the format jp2 (jp2, jpk, jpc), jp2 is the extension

I see. Editing settings is for advanced users; nevertheless the settings should be understandable and clear if possible. This is not the case here; there should be a clearer difference between extension and format. I think the missing difference between format and extension in both dialog and config file is the reason for the long discussion here.

EDIT: I've just created a new topic Format colour: Improving user interface and .ini file in "MP - Suggestions".

This topic can be closed once 0.85 final is available.
