Auto-backup---

Hi again !
- Sounds interesting, I support !
- It could be a kind of auto-backup at will - I say “At will” because it might be optional and maybe configurable at the name-style (?), I guess- …

Kind regards,
Claude

Moderator's note:
When posting in this topic, we should try to point to existing topics rather than discussing things here. If there isn't a topic for your suggestion, simply start a new one and link to it. This will make answering and handling of things much easier. Thanks.

JPEG commenting

Easier access to JPEG comments would be nice (browser file right-button menu, toobar button, shortcut etc.).
Editing Description and JPEG comment directly in cells in browser "View as" "Thumbnails & Details" would ease commenting of photo albums.
Nice program, thanks.

About that!
Maybe is hard to code so that XnView knows what frame is the biggest, I don't know, if is maybe is easier to make the preview for icons (and maybe other multi frame files) something like

Folks,
I guess Ckit started this topic to get a better and big picture of what people want and in which direction development of XnView should go.
By the time more and more people have posted in this topic hoping that "their" feature is prioritized. I don't know about Pierre, but I have the feeling that this is not a good way to get a big picture. We have many individual voices and posts. Exactly the same as before, but instead of many individual topics and posts we have one long, messy topic.
And we have topic
"Deluxe is dead, Hourra for XnView" which goes pretty much in the same direction as this topic.
I'd prefer if this topic "What do you want in the Next Version of XnView?" was discontinued and people would post into individual topics, again, and tell there if they do want a specific feature. This way we can discuss things properly and not just place a short note in this topic.
Also we have list
Global Request & Suggestion list *Read this first*, let's update and care for that list.
Comments and other thoughts are welcome.

not sure if this is something that can be done or is a waste to ask for or if it has already been brought up but I thought I would ask anyway

If this gained more performance that would be nice (eventhough it is great now)
2 Requests.

1 - When I have thumbnails up and I am saving a file into the same directory that XnView is pointed at...I'd like it to stop trying to build the thumbnail until the file is completely saved.
2 - I want to be able to point XnView at a web directory. Instead of pointing it to c:\my documents\my pictures\ to view files, I'd like to look in
http://www.mydomain.com/images/. Then I would be able to view, modify and save files on my webserver instead of having to download them, change them and upload them again.
#1 I could live without.
#2 would be AWESOME.
