PS. Aren't color depth and palette really the same thing?
Yes. But in #5 more semantic weight: arrows=conversion between two different shapes - circle & square=full & fixed colors. Sorry for my English. So that's because I think #5 will be better.

None of the first group work for me... they are too much "photographic" and their messages are ambiguous.
#1 reminds me too much of "Copy".
#2 is OK but needs a "neutral" canvas. When we change the canvas size we assign a single color.
Here are suggestions:

Yes, I guess it does.

But the full screen icon does not show the second (larger) image.
Here is a crude color depth suggestion. The diagonal across the square is a common metaphor.

Good for preview image "show indexed/full color". Not for convert. That's because I used arrows.

Yes. Not show. But arrows tell us that image size will be increased and no reduced.
May be adding bidirectional arrow in my version between two images will be good for you?

Sure, double arrows would better address the resize meme. They would be rather small in that icon, though. Maybe another icon layout would work better.
I repeat myself from previous posts:
Good icon design is the most difficult part of software.

Demopage updated

As I know in XnViewMP 24x24 not used. Only 16x16.
Should I make 16x16 version?

I don't care for No. 2 but any of the rest are more than suitable.
To make things easier:
5 & 6

24x24 icons are used in toolbar, and 16X16 in menu, so it's not needed... Thanks!

Alternative way for "Change color depth" is represent most common usage. By my opinion this is decrease count of colors. What do you think?
