See the update below for 1.90b2!

Nope, never happened again - is that good (does not happen[often]) or bad (bug still exists and can't be hunted down)? At least I can live quite fine like this
helmut wrote:- The editable fields have to be clicked twice and slowly for editing. It does not always react. This should be improved.
Moreover, they do a)

display another language (XnView is UK, field names are DE - I don't care) and b)

changes are not saved (clicking on the date pops up a calendar, clicking another date in this calender does not provoke any action, calendar stays on top, data in drop down is not changed, ESC and Enter have same (zero) effect). When clicking on another image in the browser pane, I will be asked whether I wanna save my changes, but after yes and returning to the "changed" image, nothing was changed. It works perfectly well when NOT using the calendar, but directly changing inside the drop down.
in order of my priority:
=> make XnView save the changes I make in the calendar
=> bring calendar up after fast AND slow double click on edit icon (in front of row) and date field
=> maybe let XnView override the language for EXIF field titles (I don't care at all)
helmut wrote:- The editabe datefields are very wide, much wider than the date displayed.
Hm, that's not bugging me that much, but the column containing the field titles is very wide and cannot be changed in it's width. When working on the road (1024x768px) I can't make the preview area big enough to click the date AND still see a considerable amount of pics in the browser pane.
Moreover, when I change to the next image, the preview pane shows the tab "properties" -- it does not remember my last setting.
Very annoying when checking/changing the EXIF info of a narrow set of images (for a big set, I'd change the view in browser pane).
=> make the EXIF colum wide adjustable
=> remember last active tab in preview pane (it'd be perfect if column width and/or scrolling position would be remembered, too, so I'll directly see the info I need for ALL files)
helmut wrote:- The icon gives you the feeling that you have to click on it for editing (which is not the case).
Hm, but AFAIK it was in alpha3?! *wondering*
And a very general question: Why can I change the EXIF dates in browser mode, but not in view mode? In view mode, opening properties and changing to EXIF info just shows something different than the preview pane in browser mode...IMHO strange
