The color selector is on all the time when viewing images - even black and white. It's pretty distracting, with the yellow tool tip following behind. Is there a setting to turn it off?

This colour selector is a bit too pentrant, I think. It should disable automatically when closing an image, see topic Automatically resetting 'colour mode'.

Thanks, Oliver.
Helmut, I agree that the selector is really a specialized tool, of little use unless one is changing a color palette. I would like to see a toggle button, with the tool normally off. Those dexterous enough to seek out individual color pixels will probably be able to turn it on without difficulty.

I disagree. When I am making a design, I usually need to extract color information from multiple files (logos, images, buttons,...), so I'm just extracting the information via XnView, but using in another program. Hence, I'd like to keep color info on when changing the image (and maybe when exiting XnView, but that's not that important to me) - I mean, you don't expect XnView to change the window size, the pane layout,... when going to the next image, do you?tcebob wrote:Helmut, I agree that the selector is really a specialized tool, of little use unless one is changing a color
The three options discussed in the other thread are fine for me.
