File association + opening not/partially working

Ok under Win2000 I assigned *.gif and *.jpg images to XnView in WinExplorer->Tools->FolderOptions->FileTypes

This new assignement seems to be successful at the first glance
since the tiny icons in WinExplorer change to XnViews icons.

However when I double click on some *.gif and *.jpg images
then XnView does NOT show them.

XnView seems to start. I can see new instances in the TaskManager.
But the images are NOT displayed. Why ? Xnview program is unvisisble

Interestingly I can open the images through the context menu. When I right click e.g. on a *.jpg image and click on the thumbnail in the context menu then XnView opens as intented.

It seems to me that passing the image filename does not work when opening an image through double click.

Or do I have to set another option ?

Please use XnView/Options/Associations

If using associations does not help, please look at following topic:

Good to hear that marsh's solution helped. :-)

I've just added a link in the troubleshooting section of the above mentioned FAQ.
