Archives can't be D&D from TC…

:) Hello !

• If you attempt to D&D an archive, let's say ZIP on the XnView button in a bar of Total Commander, that doesn't work, you get the usual delicious message "The format… blah blah… couln't be determined".
- Using that way, normally the file might be sent to the browser since it can't be opened in "View" as usual…

- I wonder to hear that occurs with the same handling in other File Managers… :?:

I'd like to test whatever you're trying to do with xplorer2 pro 1.6.5.1 and WinRAR 3.61.
I need you to be document this more clearly if that's possible.

What is D&D?

Nit-picking…

• Do you to play stupid to get at the truth ? In French : “To play the donkey to get bran” Image

- D&D = Drag & Drop indeed, of course, naturally and obviously :P

Confirmed.

Steps:
- Open XnView, close Browse mode
- "Drag and Drop" a archive (both RAR and ZIP tested) from file manager
- Error message appears!

BTW "Use all formats available" is enabled.

Normal, currently you can't open archive in view mode!

:) Hello !

• But in TC button-bar, one can send parameters, and here I tested with:
-browser, it doesn't work anymore ! It opens the browser on the last used dir, and the message is there still ! :(

- But yet, I have set ZIP RAR and SQX in the displayed items…

:) Hello !

• To illustrate that I mean, I show below a capture of this button-settings in TC (the small box for ONE button when you right-click on it to change anything…) :

——————— Image

• These settings must open the programme with the browser. The “-browser” parameter of XnView works, it does.
- The %P%N parameters of Total Commander send the full long name and the full path on the command-line.
- When you Drag & Drop an archive supported by XnView in the browser, it might work !
- Instead, I've still the famous message "The format… blah blah…"

- Like I said before, All formats available is ON, and I added the archives extensions in the Displayed items…

- Using the same button with these settings, then D&Drop an image file works, but it's crasy ! The browser is opened, but I've no time to see it, the image is displayed immediately in View, while I didn't click anything in the browser.
- Testing another time the same image, I land in the folder of the ARCHIVES formely and unsuccessfully tested, and I've a delicious Bill's message —> Close ! :|
Point noted ! (Dont acte!)

But -browser is not used with parameters, if you want to open a folder it's xnview folder
