crash on dual core systems

I'm using Windows XP SP2 on some dual core configurations (Pentium D and Core Duo) and for most of them, XnView crashes when displaying a picture after double clicking on it from Explorer.
XnView works perfect though when you open it first and then open a picture.
Each time it crashes, it displays the picture, then I get an error message and when I click on the "Ok" button of the alert box, XnView is killed.
Very annoying.

Do you have tried to disabled option/View/File list/Read ahead?
And do you have the problem with beta 1.90?

Great !
Seems to be the problem ... anyway, I never found the pre-read cache was so efficient on very big pictures ... especially on powerful configurations.

Subj: also crashes with Core 2 Duo
Problem becomes apparent only on Core Duo & Core 2 Duo systems. It happens very often but not in 100% of time.
So exactly the same behavior on this: dblclicking picture, XnView runs + loades picture > crash-boom-bang
May be u would like to look through the dump of the crash , i'll send it on ur request.
I'll try to suppose that misunderstanding comes from the AMD & Intel CoreDuo feature use. XnView tries to launch some exceptional code (comand whatever) wich is unknown or critical for CoreDuo architecture.
p.s. Before i had an old version of XnView (2004) workd fine, i don't know y i have changed, anyway, nevermind.

Was walking around here and found

//* simply switch off "Image Preload"
I tried, so before it was 7 crashes out of 10 runs, now 2 crashes out of 10. Better but not comfy
