The so missing Basic brush tool

XNview is so terrific program yet it does not have a very essential and useful tool: a brush tool.
This one can be very basic and minimal, something like in the very old paint program that used to come with the Windows OS.
It can have or instance:
the ability to choose the color, the size and mode like line, freehand etc.
Hope it will appear in very near SW releases.

Yes, an already request :-)

Actually, I would use a full featured cloning brush much more than I would use a "regular" brush.

What about PhotoFiltre? Also freeware from France and just 1.5MB!

Yup, I love PhotoFiltre and I'm thinking of buying PhotoFiltre Studio too.

PhotoFiltre is very good, I like it too... however, its cloning brush leaves much to be desired. PhotoFiltre only has so called "precise" cursors for its brushes. Precise cursors (that is, crosshairs) are great for pixel editing and vector drawing... but not for painting.

For painting, it's very important to have visual feedback about brush size and shape. This applies to any brush whatever it's effect, whether cloning, applying an effect such as sharpening, or simply painting color into an image. The minimum useful parameter set is transparency, shape, size, and "hardness", all of which need to be visible in the brush cursor itself...

It's a simple, rather user-friendly image editing program with some reasonably powerful features, but it's not on the level of adobe/corel/gimp. I recommend it often for causual users, since Gimp is such a clusterfuck.

Agree. A minimal painting feature (NOT a clone of Adobe Photoshit)
would be nice. I would no longer need to use the buggy PAINT and move
the images between it and XN.

Also, Copy&Paste should allow to place the piece anywhere, and not
always into the top-left margin.
